Venice is the city of masks: the beautiful Venetian masks are famous all over the world; they were worn by the Venetians on various occasions and not only at Carnival when they found their maximum moment of display. The mask was worn by men to avoid being recognized in the most uncomfortable situations and by women, as well as to hide their identity, also for beauty.
Venice was the site of the production of masks since the Middle Age. These accessories made themselves precociously independent of its scenic functions, from the theater to the Carnival, to take on a singular aesthetic value.
Since the sixteenth century, Venice seems to have transferred into the mask in general, not into a particular mask, a complex of cultural symbols and behaviors that are in fact inseparable from the image of the city such as the gondola or the winged lion.
La Fucina Dei Miracoli was born in 1975 from the inspiration and inspiration of Vincenzo Della Croce, a Veronese theater actor and set designer who transformed a stage necessity into pure artistic expression.
Over time and experience, a small artisan workshop has become a point of reference in the sector, a symbol of deep technical knowledge of materials and different processes and also a metaphor for the quality of Made in Italy artistic and artisanal work.
Today La Fucina Dei Miracoli produces those masks that are the very image of Venice and its Carnival all over the world, following the fourteenth-century tradition of the mask maker.
The elegance of the oldest Baroque manufacture comes to life through hand-made masks, perfect to wear but which also become precious design objects, thanks to a manufacturing technique conceived in the 70s by master Vincenzo and still carried out today by him and his cross family.
