J.L. Rubio. Collectible historical swords

J.L. Rubio is a small family-run company, founded in 1969 by the “maestro espadero” Josè Luis Rubio Jimenez, which produces replicas of historical swords, daggers, panoplies, miniatures of swords, armor, shields and other historical weapons.

Today it is his son who carry on this artisan tradition that we can call ART.

The work takes place in compliance with the techniques handed over by the father, maintaining the quality that has made Toledan swords famous.
For the construction of the blades of swords and daggers, Mova 440 stainless steel is used.
For handmade swords EC-6 Carbon Steel
For the hilt (guard, handle and pommel) an alloy of zinc, aluminium, magnesium and copper is used. Others are made of iron.
Brass and copper wires, wood, precious woods, mother of pearl and many others are materials present in our products, depending on the model of the sword.
All our metals are top quality.
Finally, the chemical baths of 24 carat gold, copper, brass. . . and we end up with the aging of the handle.
Our miniature armors are made with 0.5 mm malleable iron sheet.
This material has the adequate flexibility to resist the stresses of bending and highlight the bas-relief ornaments. An antioxidant treatment is then carried out and lastly the gilding and aging.
Our axes are made of steel with a pine wood handle.
Our crossbows are made of pine wood with a steel bow and brass metal elements.
