Caltagirone: city of ceramics.
The name “Caltagirone” derives from the Arabic term Qal’at al Ghiran, which means “Rock of Vases”.
The manufacturing of ceramics in the Caltagirone area dates back to the Neolithic.
The imprint of the various peoples who have colonized Sicily over the centuries is also perceived in the processing of ceramics, despite this, the potters in their art have always brought out the Sicilian spirit.
This art has been handed down from generation to generation.
Through special techniques the “chiaroscuro” is highlighted on the crystallized effect of the majolica inspired by the great master CARAVAGGIO.
The combination of tradition and innovation gives rise to objects of the past of contemporary beauty.
